The Wilson Family

Gosh…it’s been a LONG time!  Now that I remember my password and know there are people who actually read our blog, I promise to do the best I can to keep up with posts!  Since we last “spoke,” our world has done a 180…and it couldn’t be better.  I didn’t know this type of joy existed.  Sure, it brings responsibility…but responsibility that I almost ENJOY.    Who knew?!  Aurora Reece Wilson (“Rory”) is 9 1/2 months old!  She was born just a little over a month early and had to spend a couple nights in the special care nursery but did great!  She was born on April 29, 2009 at 10:00am.   She is already almost 23 lbs and is 30 1/2 inches long!  Yes, she is wearing 12-18 month clothing!  She wants to move around so badly and does her best at scooting, but we all think she will be crawling before we know it!  She still goes to PT every week.  (Sometimes every other week.)  Since most of you already know about her helmet, etc…I’m not going to explain that but just mention that she is on helmet 2 of 2 and it has done WONDERS!  Whew!

Also…we are buying our very first house!  It’s amazing!  I LOVE it!  It needs a little finishing, but I’m excited about that because we can make it what WE want and what WE like!  It’s got lots of space…and we plan on making good use of ALL of it….a guest room, photo studio, another baby…etc.    Check out the link to see more photos!  We shall “meet” again soon!

We have decided to do the sensible thing and combine our blogs, with us both being bad at updating we thought maybe if we only had one, it would be better updated. Also with only one, people only have to go to one place the check up on what we are doing, and more importantly how Aurora is doing.  Lastly there is now a mobile version for thoughts of you that need to know what is going on all the time, we know your out there

The Wilson Clan

Well…we’re on the downhill slope of the pregnancy now and getting more anxious by the day.  Tina & Phaedra make up the “baby shower committee” and have been hard at work.    They have both been so great in getting together everything we’re going to need for the shower and making sure I like everything.  What a lucky girl I am!  I am SO excited for the party…and even more excited that Jeff is going to have a lot of guy friends there too!  I am super excited, too, for my mom and sister to get to town sometime toward the end of next week!  Neither of them have seen the house yet and so it will be fun to show them around and take them to see Ben & Tina’s place too.

In other news…Tina & Phaedra & Myself just got a new die cut machine and some die cuts to get us started.  I am in Heaven even more-so now!  What a great tool to use in our scrapbooking!  I have already started Aurora’s scrapbook and can’t wait to get a bunch of newborn pictures of her!  Scrapbooking and photography are definitely my favs!  Although…for what I have in mind for this scrapbook it’s going to be HUGE HUGE HUGE…or I might just have to make a newborn one and then a “First year” one…lol.  Anyway…I’m always open to any scrap layouts or ideas if anyone wants to share!

Well…this week has been a week in which I feel I should not have gotten out of bed.  I started off the week not feeling too great and then took a tumble down the stairs.  I landed on my back…which has been bothering me A LOT…and having to work and be on my feet for 6 or more hours at a time.  Also…I almost had a heart attack when I didn’t feel Baby Girl Wilson move that next day.  I had felt her a little that night…but not at all the next day.  I started being able to think of nothing else except for the fact that I had not felt my baby move and that was unusual.  I started crying and making myself crazy and decided it was time to go to the doctor…just to ease my mind and be on the safe side.  Needless to say…we DID hear the heartbeat and the doc offerred an ultrasound…but said she thought the baby sounded great.  So…I have felt her since then and feel worlds better!  That little girl just about gave me a heart attack…FROM THE WOMB…yep…she’s good!  But then again…I suppose I deserved it since I probably scared her when I fell.  What have I learned from all this…?  TAKE MY TIME…and just slow down a bit!!!  I’m not used to this slower paced lifestyle…but it’s what my body and my baby need right now…and that’s all that matters.

Now…work tonight and then Friday and Saturday off.  Saturday (hopefully) will be painting the baby’s room!  I cannot wait!  I will post before and after pictures when it’s all done!  Have a wonderful rest of the week and weekend everyone!  Big hugs from Minnesota! 

…Guess Jeff is rubbing off on me because it’s been quite awhile since I have posted!  BUT…the move is complete and we are settled here in Fridley.  It’s a very nice place to start a family.  I still look forward to saving and BUYING a house with a yard so we can have a swing set and a tree house…things I had and/or that were important to me when I was young.  Right now, where we are is perfect though.  It stinks not being closer to MY family…but I love Jeff’s family just the same…so it works.  Christmas was different…not being around my family for the first time…but it was wonderful just the same!  I definitely felt like a Wilson!

I am finally getting the things I need to be a “professional” photographer!  I just got my very first lighting kit and it is AMAZING!  Now…just working on some backdrops and a backdrop stand and I should be good to go!  Of course…I am always up for neat props!

Also…we just found out that we are having a DAUGHTER…that’s right…it’s a GIRL!  YAY!!!  I cannot wait to meet her!  I want to know as much about her as I can…and I kinda feel like I’m cheating a little….knowing she’s a girl…but ya gotta love technology!  Now I am ready to nest…paint…get the baby room set up…etc.  I am hoping…and it’s looking like…a Baby Shower date of Sunday, March 8th.  Invites will be sent though…so not to worry.    I think Jeff and I have agreed on the perfect bedding for our child…which is great that we can agree on so much…we have very similar tastes!  Woohoo!  I will have to post pics of it once we decide for sure.  (Have it narrowed down to 2 I believe!)  (This photo is a 3D image…baby’s face is on the right side.  You can see her cheeks, eyes, nose, and lips…oh so sweet!)

Also…I have just started working at Archiver’s…the scrapbook megastore…among other things…lol.  I love it!  I am still looking for another job and/or photography clients to add some more income to the mix…just until after the baby is born and I can get back into law enforcement!

Anyway…hope all is well and everyone is getting 2009 off to a great start…I know we are!  (Thanks in large part to family and friends…love you!!!)

Well…Ashley has been talking about and planning her wedding since she was like six…so…naturally…I always though about HER wedding as well…never really one of my own.  Before I met Jeff…I seriously doubted if it would ever happen for me…not sure why really…other than maybe the fact that I was VERY much focused on a career path, etc.  However, the more time I spent with Jeff…the more apparent it became to me…that he was everything I had ever looked for in a man…and quite honestly…more than I even expected.  I can’t help but make this post cheesy…because the nature of it is exactly that.  The thought of coming home to my HUSBAND…waking up next to my HUSBAND…is just so amazing and incredible to me.  We are just beginning our lives together and I am SO excited to share life’s journey.  Life’s a roller coaster…and it’s just more fun to share the ride!  I am sure there will be rough times here and there…but I know that TOGETHER we can get through anything.  And we have incredible family and friends that are there for us every step of the way.  I couldn’t imagine a greater family then mine and the one I married into.  Now…with plans to move to Minnesota very soon…everything is falling into place…just as it should.  It will be tough leaving my friends here in Orlando, but I can only imagine what waits for us up north!  I am excited about our new place up there and can’t wait to get settled!  Now I just hope that my energy levels return to somewhat normal…’cause if it stays the way it is…moving is gonna be the death of me…lol.  I need to learn to take naps.    Anyway…until next time…take care everyone!!!

Okay, well…we are at 7 weeks…got to see the heartbeat…which about made me melt…lol…but other than that…ya can’t really make anything out…which is kinda good because as Phaedra pointed out…we have more time to prep, plan, save, etc…and we have a due date of June 5, 2009.  Woohoo!

Well…the seasons are changing…and so is absolutely everything else in my world.  I have never felt so many emotions in one week before.  It started off with Jeff’s parents arriving in town a week before his graduation so we got to spend a little quality time with them and that was fantastic.  Then…about Wednesday I decided to take a home pregnancy test…just to ‘ease my mind’ after I had been feeling very ill and tired for apparently no reason.  HA!!!  Let’s just say…one good pregnancy test deserves another and needless to say…two were taken and then followed by a trip to the doctor the next morning on Thursday.  Everyone else arrived later that day (Jeff’s grandparents and his friends from MN Lauren & Andrew).  Jeff’s graduation (from Full Sail University) was on Friday where he won the honors of Salutatorian of his class and received the Course Director’s Award for Photography.  I can’t explain how proud I felt!  He amazes me a little more everyday.  Friday night was accompanied by a great party/cookout for the grads and their friends and families.  Later, after many long conversations, we decided it best to inform the family of our pregnancy then on Saturday morning.  I thought my heart was going to beat out of my chest.  For as uncertain as our future is at this very moment…I have never felt happier or more at peace.  Sure, the unknown is scary…but I know the wonderful support system that Jeffrey and I have and that makes things much less so.  SO…the week went from happy to shocked to scared to overwhelmed to proud to scared (lol) to super excited!  I hate that family and friends had to leave because we enjoyed their company so much…but now Jeff & I can concentrate on what we need to do in the next 6 or 7 months until our little one arrives.  I am in total aggreeance with a comment that Benjamin made:  “Life never happens on time or like you plan.”  And…I think that’s one of the reasons life is so interesting.  I cannot wait for what lies ahead for us.  Jeff is incredible and SO cute when he gets excited about something or something clicks and he worries.  I know the little one and I are in great hands.  Oh…and I promise to keep everyone updated!  We have our first ultrasound and find out our due date next Tuesday, October 14th.  Love!

So I’ve noticed whenever I say anything about ANYTHING to Gaasland I usually either end up with it or end up with a whole bunch of ideas on how I could get it.  So, needless to say, thanks to my big bro Gaasie Poo…I am NAPP’s newest member.  NAPP stands for the National Association of Photoshop Professionals and is possibly one of the best, if not the best, association that I could imagine belonging to.  I am SO excited and I am getting ready to sit down and read my first Photoshop User magazine!  YAY!  Now…Benjamin & I can sit and talk for hours about Photoshop stuff…ooohhh…wait…he is going to be in town SOON…Yep…sorry Jeff & Tina…but I am totally stealing him for like a whole day!  We’re gonna go totally “GEEK!”  Seriously though…thanks Gaas!  I am SO thankful and I appreciate it SO much!  I love you like a brother and always will!
